Equine Lameness

Horses go lame. Wether that be on the day of your big competition or just when it rains! So we are here for all your lameness needs, from nerve blocking to diagnostic imaging. Please don't hesitate to let us help you sort out that pesky pony.

CONSULT

First step is to asses the lameness. To determine the affected leg, the severity and possible location. This can be done on farm or at our clinic.

DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING

Once the area of interest has been located then ultrasound and radiography can be used to further identify the problem(s) affecting the patient.

NERVE BLOCK

Nerve blocks help isolate the possibly affected sites. This will isolate the pain, and will allow us to target the diagnostic imaging as required.

TREATMENT

Once a diagnosis has been found, a treatment plan will be initiated. Ranging from arthritis management, to pain control and rehabilitation.
